"I started lifting weights again when I joined the Iron Horse Fitness Club on October of 2011. The reason I started was for health reasons. I weighed 238 to 240 pounds. I had high blood pressure, close to being diabetic, my liver panel was all over the charts, and I came down with gout. I was just plain out of shape, feeling tired, and run down. I was 58 years old at the time. I then decided if I wanted to enjoy my grandchildren and retirement years, I better take control and do something about it. I started a new lifestyle change, which included lifting weights and eating right. As of now, I'm 61 years old, I've lost over 70 pounds. I can fit into 29 and 30 inch waist pants now. I'm no longer on blood pressure medication, I have a normal liver panel, I'm no longer a borderline diabetic, and I no longer have gout. I feel like I'm in my 20s again and have a body build of a man in his 20s. I consider weight lifting the fountain of youth. You have to make a commitment! It's 75% eating and life style change and 25% exercise. I'm now a Certified Fitness Trainer at the Iron Horse Fitness Club. The reason I'm a trainer is I want to pass on my knowledge and experience that the good Lord gave me to other people. Now, my wife has lost over 70 pounds as well and has transformed herself. You can do this! Never let people tell you it can't be done. Surround yourself with positive people who support you. Be patient, do it right. Do it! No one else will!
